Mathematics Life Skills with Credits - NCEA Level 1
Course Description

This course will provide life skills Mathematics Education for Year 11, 12 and 13 students who are working at Levels 3 and 4 of the National Curriculum, who would not manage a MAN6 or other NCEA Level 1 Mathematics course in one year, and who need more individual support than other mainstream courses can offer.
The activities and work will provide evidence for a Numeracy portfolio at NCEA Level 1. The course will be run over one or more years, allowing students to progress at a pace appropriate for them as individuals. The course will include some practical activities to support and consolidate the basic skills.
This course will cover time, money, measurement, basic shapes, problem solving, statistics and calculator use.
Recommended Prior Learning
Entry must be discussed with class teacher and LOC.
