Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms M. Hockly

This course builds on previous knowledge and capabilities focusing on sustainable textiles and design. Students use the design process to produce innovative garments that show good workmanship and an understanding of Technology. Students are expected to work with greater independence and must be confident using the equipment.

This is an approved subject for University Entrance.

Term 2

U.S 6700 Prepare for and construct a textile item for a specified purpose.

Recommended Prior Learning

12 or more credits at NCEA Level 2 Fabrics Design Technology or Head of Technology Department approval.

Pathway

This subject could lead to Tertiary study within Fashion Design and Technology. Vocational pathways to consider are sewing, cutting and construction of textiles. Upholstery, design and dressmaking.
