Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs K. Brownlee

This course continues to build on the knowledge and practical skills developed in Level 1 Agriculture.
The course is practically based and will involve farm experience.
The topics include:
- Hazards and safety in the rural workplace
- Constructing an 8 wire fence (camp)
- Nonelectric fence types
- Chainsaw safety and operation
- Breeds and classes of cattle farmed in New Zealand
- Livestock growth and development

Students that complete this course should be ready to gain employment or continue to study Agriculture Level 3 or at a tertiary provider.

Recommended Prior Learning

Preferably AGR6, OR approval of the HOD of Agriculture and Horticulture Department.
